They should be at a stable weight and have stopped breastfeeding for at least 3 months prior to breast surgery. There are many advantages of combining procedures, including:

As a breast and body specialist, Dr. Diaz is particularly skilled and experienced in personalizing his technique to achieve each of his patient’s goals. Women visiting him for a Mommy Makeover from Brevard County cities like Viera, Palm Bay, and Merritt Island have many different reasons for their decision to consult a plastic surgeon. Dr. Diaz takes the time to listen to each woman’s motivations and guide her through the process of customizing an approach that’s just right for her.

A Mommy Makeover typically combines two or more procedures. Dr. Diaz customizes each Mommy Makeover based on your consultation and discussion with him about your cosmetic goals. For example, a Mommy Makeover may combine a breast enhancement procedure such as augmentation with a body contouring procedure like a tummy tuck or liposuction. The combination of these procedures helps restore a woman’s pre-pregnancy appearance, allowing her to once again enjoy a youthful figure with perkier breasts and a flatter tummy.
A Mommy Makeover may combine procedures to lift and enhance droopy breasts, remove belly fat and tighten loose skin–all in one surgery. Dr. Diaz designs these procedures to occur in a single session because he recognizes that busy moms don’t have the time for multiple recovery periods. By combining procedures, he also provides his patients with a way to cut down on the cost involved in multiple surgeries.
Breast implants add feminine volume to the breasts and can correct minor sagging after pregnancy. Breast augmentation can also correct asymmetry and reverse an inverted nipple.
Age and breastfeeding can cause the breasts to stretch downward and lose their youthful shape. Breast lift surgery places the breasts higher along the chest wall, helping them appear more firm and perky.
Pregnancy and weight changes can permanently stretch the skin around your lower abdomen. Tummy tuck surgery removes this loose skin to tone the midsection and create a firm, flat belly.
Unwanted fat can collect around the abdomen, flanks, thighs, and bra area. Liposuction is a versatile procedure that suctions fat cells away to slim and sculpt the body.

Meet Dr. DiazDr. Diaz believes in the importance of quality patient care. He believes that with a proper evaluation a Mommy Makeover makeover can be safely performed as an outpatient procedure. Dr. Diaz will send you home with a sequential compression device usual used in hospitals, which provides an additional level of safety while still allowing you the comfort of recovering at home. Once home, one of our caring nurses will perform a home visit to make sure you are recovering well. The following morning you will be seen in our office for a dressing change.
After your Mommy Makeover surgery, you can expect to feel tired and sore and have some bruising and swelling. The discomfort is usually controlled by medication prescribed by Dr. Diaz. You can be up and about immediately, walking in a slightly bent fashion. It may take a week until you feel comfortable straightening out if you had a tummy tuck. You will be seen daily to change your dressings. Surgical drains will be removed usually in 5 to 7 days.
Recovery time after a Mommy Makeover varies with procedures performed and individual factors. In general, you should be able to return to work in 10 days depending on the work you do. Avoid heavy lifting for 6 weeks. Most patients resume all of their pre-procedure activities by the 6 week mark. Dr. Diaz will see you periodically throughout this period to assess your recovery and adjust your activity accordingly.

1 Week: The first weeks are the most demanding part of the recovery process. You will spend most of your time relaxing, sleeping, and taking short walks around your home to encourage blood flow. You may walk slightly hunched over during these first few days. Ask friends and family to help with household responsibilities such as grocery shopping, meals, and childcare.
3 Weeks: Fatigue and residual tenderness are common during this period. You can begin weaning off your pain medications and take slow walks outside, when needed. Most patients can safely return to work during this time, but patients with physical jobs may need an additional week.
6 Weeks: You will no longer need to wear your abdominal binder during the day. Swelling is significantly reduced and you will have more energy for your daily activities. Light exercise can be resumed. Most patients can comfortably fit back into their pre-surgery clothing.
8 Weeks: You can now enjoy the final look of your Mommy Makeover results. Swelling is gone and you can buy new clothes to fit your new, slimmer physique. Intense exercise and weightlifting can be resumed. Incisions are closed and scars will begin fading over time.
While a Mommy Makeover can slim and sculpt the body, it is not a “weight loss” procedure. The skin and fat removed during surgery will not significantly change the number on the scale. Ideal Mommy Makeover patients should be within 10 to 15 pounds of their goal weight before considering treatment.
Yes, you can physically still have children after a Mommy Makeover. However, we recommend waiting to have surgery until you’ve finished growing your family, as pregnancy can change the body and impact your long-term results.
Like any surgery, a Mommy Makeover comes with a certain amount of discomfort. Pain medications are provided after treatment and temporary bedrest is required. Some patients may opt for using Exparel®, a long-acting local analgesic injection that lasts up to 72 hours and is administered during surgery. With proper medication and diligent rest, you should feel back to normal within a few weeks.
The price of a Mommy Makeover here in Melbourne, FL, depends on a variety of factors. The final cost depends on the specific procedures you choose to involve in your body contouring transformation. After a consultation with Dr. Diaz, our practice will provide you with a customized quote for your procedure.
The types of scars you may have after surgery depend on the surgeries you undergo during treatment. Breast augmentation scars, for example, are easily hidden by clothing, and tummy tuck scars may be placed below the bikini line. Overall, most of your scars will not be visible in day-to-day life. These marks will also fade over time and slowly become less noticeable.
