Mommy Makeover Before & After Case 22

This 32 year-old mother of 3 presented with desires to reverse the changes due to childbirth. She wanted to restore volume of her breasts and tighten her abdomen. Because she works in healthcare, she understood the importance of having her surgery performed by an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon. She sought consultation with Michael Diaz, MD, am Melbourne, FL Mommy Makeover specialist. 

Dr. Diaz met with her and took a detailed history and listened to her concerns and desires. Her physical examination revealed the typical changes associated with childbirth, with loose breast skin and loss of volume. Her breasts were also uneven with her left breast smaller than her right. Her abdomen had loose skin and a separation of her abdominal muscles.

After consultation with the patient, the patient and Dr. Diaz agreed to the surgical plan of a Mommy Makeover. The Mommy Makeover consisted of a breast augmentation using smooth round silicone gel High Profile “gummy bear” implants. A larger implant would be used on the left to help balance her volume. The implants would be placed using the Keller Funnel, a short scar breast surgery implant device that allows silicone gel implants to be placed with a shorter scar. She decided against a breast lift because she wanted to avoid the additional scars. A tummy tuck with liposuction of the flanks would also be performed.

During her surgery the implants were placed in the Dual Plane submuscular pocket, which helped provide a more natural slope. A 450 cc implant was placed on the left and a 425cc implant was placed on the right. The abdominal skin was also tightened and the muscles repaired using a 2 layer “corset” plication to help narrow the waist.   

She recovered at home and was immediately back on her feet. She was seen frequently by Dr. Diaz and his staff. She was soon back to work, wearing a special garment that assisted with the swelling. She eventually returned to all of her usual activities.

She is very happy with the results her surgery. She feels that the implants helped restore evenness and symmetry while adding volume to fill in the loose skin. She also likes the tightness of her abdomen. She is thrilled and has referred many patients to Dr Diaz.
