Body, Arm & Thigh Lifts
Whether you’ve dedicated yourself to eating right and exercising or undergone weight loss surgery like gastric bypass, you are on the road to a healthier, more satisfying lifestyle. After losing a lot of weight, your expectations for a slim, fit body may have fallen short. Often the skin is unable to shrink to the body’s slimmer contours and extreme weight loss leaves you with excess folds of skin and pockets of unwanted fat. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Diaz specializes in body contouring surgery in the Orlando area. A body lift can be the final step in realizing the attractive, confident vision you have for yourself.
Dr. Diaz approaches aesthetic enhancement with compassion and care to reveal each patient’s unique natural beauty. To find out how body contouring surgery can improve your appearance, request a consultation online or call our office in Melbourne, Florida at (321) 951-2639.
Your Beautiful Body
Whether it’s an upper, lower, or total body lift, Orlando area body contouring patients can regain a firm, attractive appearance that can boost their self-confidence and motivate them to continue their healthier lifestyle. Dr. Diaz is skilled and experienced in performing complicated combination procedures and revising previous body contouring results. He customizes each surgery to the unique needs of the patient for results that minimize and conceal scarring and give a natural, smooth look.
A body lift often includes a combination of one or more of the following procedures:
- Arm lifts reduce areas of excess fat and tighten loose skin on the arms through incisions that run along the inside of the upper arms.
- Thigh lifts removes the excess skin and fat from inner thighs or outer thighs.
- Lower body lifts improve the abdomen, outer thighs, buttocks, and lower back. This customized procedure often includes a tummy tuck and liposuction as well.
- Upper body lifts improve the arms, armpits, sides, breasts and nipples, and upper back. An upper body lift often includes a breast lift and liposuction, and may also be combined with a breast reduction.
Dr. Diaz believes that your satisfaction with life and overall wellbeing are shaped by your lifestyle, as well as your appearance. He offers weight loss patients lifestyle coaching in diet, exercise, and UV protection both before and after surgery to help the results attained through surgery benefit his patients for a lifetime.

Keep in mind that each patient is unique and your experience may vary.
What to Expect
Dr. Diaz performs body lift procedures at Riverview Surgery Center, our private and exclusive operating facility. Body lift procedures are performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient basis. Although no scar positioning can be guaranteed, Dr. Diaz will ask you to bring undergarments that ideally you would like to cover the scars with to help him design your surgery.
Following the surgery you will be placed in a special garment and taken to our private intimate and comfy recovery area. Once you are awake and you discomfort is controlled, you will complete your recovery in the comfort and privacy of your home. One of our caring nurses will visit you at home to make sure you are recovering well and your needs are met.

Once at home you will be able to walk around with the help of your caregiver, although it’s likely you won’t feel comfortable walking completely upright for about a week. Any discomfort you experience can be alleviated with the medication Dr. Diaz prescribes. Dr. Diaz will see you daily to change your dressings. The drains will be removed in the office when they are ready to come out, usually in 5 to 7 days.
In about 1 to 2 weeks you should be able to return to work, depending upon the type of work you do. You should avoid heavy lifting or pushing for 4 to 6 weeks. You should continue to wear your garment for 6 weeks. Full activity may be resumed after 6 weeks. Dr. Diaz recommends that all patients receive post-operative lymphatic massages as this speeds the resolution of swelling and can improve the final texture of your skin.Back to Top
