Meet Dr. Diaz
Dr. Diaz is a caring surgeon who understands that your wellbeing can be influenced by the way you feel about your appearance.
Your Beautiful Body
Women and men visit Dr. Diaz near Orlando for liposuction to remove unwanted fat from areas that are resistant to diet and exercise. He also performs corrective surgery to improve the results of previous liposuction surgery, which can include additional liposuction, fat transfer to build up depressed areas, and removal or tightening of excess skin.
The technique Dr. Diaz chooses depends on each patient's overall health and skin tone in order to obtain a good result. Liposuction can be used in combination with other procedures such as a tummy tuck or body lift to help sculpt and shape the final result. Although significant amounts of fat can be removed for sculpting purposes, it is not a weight-loss technique.
Chris' Plastic Surgery Experience
"Every visit to Dr. Diaz has been a pleasant experience. He and his entire staff are always friendly and take a personal interest in me. Dr. Diaz is an exceptional surgeon and I highly recommend him."
What to Expect
Liposuction can be performed in an outpatient surgical facility under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia. In some cases, a small amount of liposuction can be performed in the office under local anesthesia. Dr. Diaz prefers a technique referred to as "liposculpture." This technique uses long slender tubes called "cannulas" placed through small incisions. Anesthetic solution is injected which makes the procedure more comfortable and decreases bruising. The cannulas are then used to remove fat. Following the procedure you will be placed in a compression garment that is to be worn for about 4 weeks.
Your Recovery
Once home you can be up and about immediately. Any discomfort you experience can be alleviated with prescription pain medication. You will be able to return to work when you feel comfortable enough to do so, usually in 3 to 4 days. You should avoid heavy lifting or pushing for 2 to 3 weeks. You should continue to wear your garment for 4 weeks. Full activity may be resumed after 6 weeks. Dr. Diaz recommends that all patients receive post-operative lymphatic massages as this speeds the resolution of swelling and can improve the final texture of your skin. It may take 6 weeks for the swelling to resolve.
